Biog

I have been drumming live and recording since 1980. I have writing credits of 50 songs, and performed on 30 albums. I have released 1 solo album playing guitar with lead vocal, and toured for 4 years as the Ben Cooper Trio with various band line-ups. I also have credits for guitar and vocals on Restless records.

I am mostly known for being a drummer for modernised 1950's influenced music like Rockabilly and Rock and Roll, but have played all kinds of drumming styles over the years in all kinds of bands. I have also accumulated other music related credits including, audio production on released records, and production/performance on music included in a film. I appeared in this film briefly too (see credits).

Along with the other members of Restless I have made a significant contribution to the sub genre that came to be known as Neo-Rockabilly.

More recently I have contributed liner notes for CD's, and contributed a piece for Richard Houghtons next Peoples History book about The Clash. I continue to do mainly festival appearances with Restless in the UK and Europe, but always looking to be involved with other band/music projects too.

Other bands I have played for in the UK Rockabilly/ Rock 'n' Roll scene include The Ricochets, Frenzy, The Sharks, The Space Cadets, and Jackson Sloan.
